The fishing thread
Haven't seen a thread on here regarding fishing.

Trout season just ended at my local Lake in Laguna Niguel.

So the banks are empty. Good time to get in some carp fishing, which is not very popular over here, it's mainly Bass, Trout and Catfish.

Anyway, I found a great carp tackle company in Oklahoma called Big Carp Tackle. Good selection, easy website to navigate and buy from and quick shipping, betterthan amazon.

Managed to get some hair hooks, feeders and tackle at a good price...

Looking to get out there this week for a few days now the Carp are done Spawning, they will be hanging out in the shallows feeding. Can't wait.

Laguna Niguel lake is one of a few out here that allow you to fish with corn, although baiting your swim is illegal.

Gonna try sweetcorn, boilies and Gonna give plastic corn a try too.

Anyone else got a fishing trip planned?

Had a follow from a jack of about 5lb on a stream close to home last week. Not bad size for that stretch. Next chuck was hoping it might have another look, no joy with the pike had a close to 2lb perch though. Pike and perch must have been right next to each other in the swim.

Mahoosive rainbow trout snapped the leader on Hanningfield on Monday next to the boat. Maybe 8lb. Schoolboy error, net before drag.

Re: The fishing thread
Spent a few hours on the Kentish Stour - caught over a dozen Roach/Rudd on maggots.

Saw a few carp hiding amongst the reeds but difficult to cast to. Any tips for clearing the areas?

Re: The fishing thread
Well I'm off out tomorrow early along the Thames in Teddington. Going to try some sweet corn and bread see who that goes, or there is a nice spot bit further up in the nintidal part near Lealeham. Be nice to get a few hours before all the boats start. First time this season.
